How can I keep pics I have in my picture folder from being deleted when I do a Quick restore?

Im about to do a Quick Restore on my computer to restore it back to when I first bought it because its not running correctly. I am no lonnger able to watch any video streams on it & it is just running really bad. I have done everything else to get it working like it once was & nothing has worked...I says for me to back up personal data files that are on my hard drive before the operation so as not to lose them, but I have no clue how to do that..Im not very computer literate...can anyone help. I have tons of pics of my kids saved in my pic folder & dont want to lose them...it says once done I can restore he data files, so I'll need to know how to do that as well...I appreciate the help from any computer geniuses...
